Last night about 2300 we were dispatched to a CO call. Upon arrival we were met outside by the occupant of the house. We entered the house with FULL PPE (Mask was not on but readily available in case we picked anything up on the 4-gas meter).
We did not get anything on the 4-gas meter but did get a strong smell of heating oil next to the oil burning furnace. The furnace was located in the laundry room in the basement of the house.
We had the home owner contact their furnace technician to come and look at it. Our units cleared the scene and returned to quarters where we slept until about 04:45 to get toned out for a lift assist! Not a bad shift
